LED illuminated systems have earned an important place in the gamer product market as an essential component to draw the consumer’s attention and practically hypnotize him/her with the games and combinations of lights and colors. As a result, most gaming products now incorporate RGB lights. Chassis, memories, motherboards, graphics cards, keyboards, mice and even hard drives. And now there is a new accessory that has joined this lighting trend: the RGB gaming chairs.
LED RGB lighting on gaming chairs
There are several brands that have this system in their chairs. We can start with AeroCool which not only has an RGB chair, but also armchairs and pouffes. We can’t deny that RGB is a great, but the problem is that where it stands out most is in products of not very high quality and it serves to boost their price for the novelty.
If we look carefully at these seats, they do not have all the comforts that the best gaming chairs offer us. Although the materials are not of bad quality, the design is not particularly comfortable, they do not have the same rest areas as the chairs we have been able to analyze in HardZone. In addition, as we mentioned before, although physically well built, the screws, welds and wheels can leave much to be desired and make the experience much worse.
Most of the chairs we find on the market with RGB lighting have it on the edge of their seam, as if it were an RGB mat. The LED strips are usually battery powered and in some cases we can put in an external battery, which we own. Others integrate it in the holes they have in the backrest, in this case we may not see the light when we are using the chair.
One of the main uses of LED chairs is to be able to see them when we move around the house in the dark, so we are sure that we do not stumble or trip over it.
Are the lights necessary in a gaming chair?
To provide light and a feeling of space, lighting is one of the most important factors. This does not only apply to shops and bars with their neon lights and garlands. But also to your bedroom, dining room or living room. And it is an essential element in good decoration.
When we want to design these spaces, we focus mainly on the lights in the walls or the ceiling and we forget that the furniture can be used as a source of light, creating a very special, modern and different atmosphere anywhere in our house.
The “LED fury” has come and gone. With projects like Aerocool and Vertagear we have clear examples that gaming chairs with LED lights will continue to develop and enter the gamer market.
And that there are sectors of this market that can literally “see themselves in new light” with something as simple as the incorporation of an RGB light system.
Advantages of gaming chairs with RGB lights
There are many advantages in using furniture and game chairs that include LED lights and not only in terms of decoration and design.
LED lights have an advantage in terms of energy saving, low heat generation, the quality of the lighting they offer and the creation of customised environments with a special touch of futurism and avant-garde.
That is why the incorporation of these small lights in furniture such as play chairs, gives an original, different and HI-TECH atmosphere to your decoration.
Besides, if we are moving around our room with the lights off, we can see them so we don’t bump into our own chair.
So we can conclude that no, RGB LED lighting is not necessary in gaming chairs. They do not serve any purpose and, besides, most of them are independent systems from the one we have in our computer. As they are independent systems, we cannot synchronize our effects or manage them from the PC itself.
